He is the founding editor of Webdunia, the first Hindi web portal, and has played a pivotal role in establishing Hindi as a prominent language on the internet. His academic achievements include the first-ever Ph.D. in Hindi Internet Media. Over the years, he has worked with some of the most prestigious newspapers and media houses in India, such as Dharamyug, Navbharat Times, Naidunia, Dainik Bhaskar, and Webdunia. He frequently writes on social and political issues in various publications and is a regular panelist on television debates.

न्यूज, केवल न्यूज होती है। नेगेटिव या पॉजिटिव नहीं। सभी खबरें पॉजिटिव न्यूज ही होती हैं। मेरा मानना है कि हत्या, चोरी और बलात्कार जैसी खबरें भी अगर मीडिया में आती हैं, तो यह बताने के लिए कि हमारे समाज में पॉजीटिव लोग कम हो रहे हैं। यह एक चेतावनी होती है समाज में। अगर ५० लाख लोगों के शहर में बहुत बड़ी वारदात हो तो उसका उद्देश्य समाज को, सत्ता को, प्रशासन को चेताने का रहता है।
प्रेस की आजादी का अर्थ, मीडिया संस्थान के मालिक की ही आबादी नहीं होती:
प्रेस के मालिक कोई भी हो सकते हैं- व्यक्ति, फर्म, कम्पनी, ट्रस्ट। कोई भी, लेकिन प्रेस की आजादी सभी लोगों की आजादी का प्रतीक है। कई लोग समझते हैं कि प्रेस की आजादी, मतलब मालिक की आजादी।

I followed the above principle and took strange and bizarre decisions in my life. I left a government job and became a journalist at one third of the salary. Even in journalism, from daily to weekly, from newspaper to TV, from TV to web journalism, from web back to TV, the journey and switchovers continued. The bright side was that I got a chance to work across multiple platforms, from print to TV to web media. श्री राजेन्द्र माथुर पारस समान थे और मैंने हमेशा उनके पास जाने की, उन्हें छूने की कोशिश की। गाली और दलाली में तब्दील होती जा रही पत्रकारिता के इस दौर में भी श्री राजेन्द्र माथुर कभी अप्रासंगिक नहीं होंगे। श्री राजेन्द्र माथुर के प्रशंसकों का बड़ा वर्ग रहा है। तत्कालीन राष्ट्रपति ज्ञानी जेल सिंह से लेकर टाइम्स ऑ इंडिया के सम्पादक श्री गिरिलाल जैन तक उनके लेखन के कायल रहे।
पत्रकारिता में एक नई रुपक शैली, भाषा को एक नया मुहावरा देने वाले श्री राजेन्द्र माथुर के बारे में जितना भी कहा जाए, कम ही होगा।

वरिष्ठ पत्रकार प्रकाश हिन्दुस्तानी इन दिनों नरेन्द्र मोदी पर लिखी एक किताब को लेकर चर्चा में है। यह किताब नरेन्द्र मोदी के चुनाव अभियान को लेकर लिखी गई है। दिलचस्प बात यह है कि इस किताब का विमोचन 25 मई 2014 को हो गया था, जबकि प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने 26 मई को शपथ ग्रहण की थी। यह किताब नरेन्द्र मोदी के चुनाव अभियान को लेकर तो है ही उनकी चुनावी रणनीति और राजनीतिक पैतरेबाजी को लेकर भी थी। नरेन्द्र मोदी की ब्रांडिंग, मार्वेâटिंग और चुनावी व्यूह रचना को लेकर तुरत-फुरत में प्रस्तुुत यह किताब हाथों-हाथ ली गई।

23/07/1955 : जन्म बुरहानपुर, मध्यप्रदेश में। वहां से इंदौर जिले की महू तहसील के गांव नेऊ गुराड़िया (महू-पातालपानी के बीच) में बचपन। चौथी कक्षा में महू के माहेश्वरी विद्यालय में भर्ती। फिर शासकीय माध्यमिक और हायर सेकेण्डरी स्वूâल में। महू के शासकीय कॉलेज से बी.कॉम, फिर एम.कॉम। माखनलाल चतुर्वेदी पत्रकारिता विश्वविद्यालय, भोपाल से टॉ रेंक पर मास्टर ऑफ जर्नलिज्म की डिग्री।
01/09/1975 : नौकरी की शुरुआत। पंचायत और समाज सेवा विभाग में धार में अप अंकेक्षक नियुक्त। १९७८ के आखिरी दिन तक नौकरी की। फिर श्री राजेन्द्र माथुर के मार्गदर्शन में नईदुनिया में प्रशिक्षु उपसंपादक।
14/09/1981 : याद है वह हिन्दी दिवस था और अनंत चतुर्दशी का दिन भी जब मैंने मुंबई का सफर शुुरू किया था। दि टाइम्स ऑफ इंडिया समूह की पत्रिका ‘धर्मयुग’ में उप संपादक के तौर पर। वहां से सालभर बाद ही नवभारत टाइम्स में स्थानांतरित।
विश्व में हिन्दी के पहले पोर्टल वेबदुनिया काम के संस्थापक सम्पादक प्रकाश हिन्दुस्तानी का मानना है कि अभी हिन्दी में इंटरनेट के विस्तार की अनंत संभावनाएं है। प्रिंट मीडिया के अनेक पत्र पत्रिकाओं (यथा नई दुनिया, धर्मयुग, नवभारत टाइम्स, दैनिक भास्कर) के अलावा प्रकाश हिन्दुस्तानी ने फिल्म,टीवी और विज्ञापन माध्यम में भी कार्य किया है। उन्हें डॉ. धर्मवीर भारती, राजेन्द्र माथुर, सुरेन्द्र प्रतापसिंह, डॉ. कन्हैयालाल नंदन, गणेश मंत्री, डॉ. विद्यानिवास मिश्र सहित अनेक दिग्गज सम्पादकों के साथ कार्य करने का अनुभव है। इन्टरनेट के क्षेत्र में हिन्दी को स्थापित करने के लिए उन्होंने कड़ी मेहनत की ओर हिन्दी को यथोचित सम्मान दिलवाया। उनकी अपनी वेबसाइट (......) प्रकाश हिन्दुस्तानी डॉट काम भी दुनिया में कहीं भी देखी जा सकती है। स्वाति एस. तिवारी ने प्रकाश हिन्दुस्तानी विभिन्न मुद्दों पर बातचीत की। प्रमुख अंश : मैं हाई स्वूâल के अपने हिन्दी शिक्षक श्री श्रीराम ताम्रकर को याद करना चाहूंगा, जिन्होंने मुझे हिन्दी सिखाई। जिनके मार्गदर्शन में मेरा पहला लेख सिंडिकेट किया गया और मुझे ८ रुपए का पहला चेक प्राप्त हुआ।
आज मैं अपने कई पुराने दोस्तों, सहकर्मियों को याद करता हूं, जिसमें नईदुनिया के साथी स्वर्गीय शाहिद मिर्जा, श्री अमित प्रकाश सिंह, श्री सतीश जोशी, श्री राकेश त्रिवेदी, श्री राजेश बादल, श्री शिव अनुराग पटैरिया, श्री विभूति शर्मा हैं।
